Google Ads AI Max: prepare for the DSA transition

Review the revised DSA transition schedule, including the June 2026 clarification. A practical AI Max checklist for campaign settings, pages and lead quality.

If your Dynamic Search Ads migration plan came from an early announcement, check the source's update date before acting on it. An article can retain its original introduction while adding a later correction to the schedule. For a running campaign, that detail matters more than the headline.

Which schedule did Google publish?

In its 11 June 2026 update, Google moved the start of DSA sunset and automatic upgrades to February 2027. The same update retained September 2026 for automatically created assets, or ACA, and the campaign-level broad match setting. Those are different transition paths.

The DSA extension therefore does not settle every campaign's situation. Read notifications in your own account and inspect its current settings. This article explains the published clarification; it does not confirm that every feature is available in every account.

Build a campaign inventory

List the campaigns and the settings each one uses. Identify dynamic ad groups, automated text preparation, final URL expansion and page restrictions. Write down the business task beside each campaign: reaching new prospects, responding to a particular need or returning to an audience that already knows you.

Save a comparable baseline before changing anything. Useful records include spending, qualified inquiries, inquiry cost and the outcome of follow-up. A single conversion total can conceal a change in lead quality. The Telegram lead qualification guide shows how to agree on consistent criteria even when the campaign source differs.

This inventory also gives the team a place to record responsibility. Someone needs to review landing pages, someone needs to assess incoming requests, and someone needs to decide whether the change should continue. Leaving those decisions implicit makes later comparisons harder.

Inspect the pages a visitor can reach

A website may contain current services alongside old promotions and pages intended for another audience. Check which pages belong in the campaign's journey. The ad's promise and the landing page should describe the same offer.

Consider an illustrative company selling ongoing ecommerce support. An old page still offers a one-off website build with different pricing. Before widening its campaign's reach, the company should resolve that mismatch. This is a hypothetical review example, not a KUZKO customer case.

Review the next action as well. Can a visitor understand what information to provide? Will the team receiving the request know which offer the person saw? A technically valid destination can still create an unclear conversation.

Evaluate a defined change

Record the date, the setting changed and the expected effect. Changing the offer, landing page and campaign rules together makes the result harder to interpret. Check the search terms and the inquiries the team actually receives, including requests for unsuitable services or locations.

Decide in advance who can pause the experiment and under what conditions. Allow for the time needed to process an inquiry. The guide to attribution and additional advertising impact can help separate operational reporting from a causal claim.

Our assessment

The revised schedule creates preparation time. We would use it to review pages, goals and lead quality definitions. Results reported in a platform announcement do not substitute for a campaign's own assessment. Keep the source link with the migration plan so that another schedule update is easy to trace.
